Alban Schmutz

Alban Schmutz is CEO of Cloud Data Engine (CDE), a SaaS company specializing in compliance and governance for cloud services and data spaces, based on the Gaia-X standards. A visionary entrepreneur, he co-founded several major European initiatives, including Gaia-X, CISPE, the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, and the first GDPR Code of Conduct approved by the European Data Protection Board. Formerly Senior VP of Business Development & Public Affairs at OVHcloud, he was a key player in cloud policy in France, notably within EuroCloud France, where he served as Vice President. Today, he once again chairs the Public Affairs Committee of EuroCloud France and sits on the boards of CISPE, Yncrea, and Alacrité. He also chairs the Gaia-X Policy Rules Committee, actively contributing to the challenges of digital sovereignty, compliance, and cybersecurity in Europe.
